François Nordmann is a former diplomat who served as Switzerland's ambassador to France (2002-2007). He joined the foreign service in 1971 and, over his long career, has held several positions including ambassador to Guatemala and to other states of Central America, head of the Swiss delegation to UNESCO, ambassador to the United Kingdom and permanent representative of Switzerland to the international organisations in Geneva.
